Rorschach with a different mask

This movie is worth watching only because Jackie Earle Haley is awesome in the role. There's a lot of debate over who's better, Haley or Englund, but in my opinion they are two different characters with burned faces, a claw and a sweet sweater and hat ensemble. The new Freddy is portrayed as a creepy pedophile who comes back to massacre the kids who got him killed while the old Freddy was a child murderer who got off on a technicality and was burned alive. This movie, like all the unnecessary Michael Bay remakes, focuses too much on jump scares, pretty victims and jump scares as well as a few jump scares tossed in for good measure. It's not scary, but Haley is scary and creepy. Personally i wish they'd just make an Elm street movie where Freddy just slaughters tons of people. That's what made Jason Voorhees such an awesome slasher villain: he racked up the body count like crazy. Anywho, the best part of the movie is the flashbacks and the death of the blonde girl which pays homage to the original but adds a vicious finishing move: Freddy rakes his victim from head to toe after slamming him all over the room as compared to just slicing her across the stomach like in the original. In short, worth watching to see Rorschach wear a knife glove and kill "teenagers".
