The Melodramatic Hamlet

Often hailed as the best of the Hamlets, Laurence Olivier's adaptation is set in a surreal never-never land castle surrounded by mist and darkness. There's a kind of weirdness to it that more recent versions never quite attain.
But, in the end, I find Olivier to be too melodramatic. With other, much better versions out there, this one can be difficult to watch.
