Good because of Robinson

An effective enough gangster film because of Edward G. Robinson's performance. If he was not in it probably would not have been that noticeable because scenes are interjected poorly with one another that disrupt the flow terribly, and some important characters will go away for too long than come back later. None of the other characters besides Rico are very well played or developed particularly not Rico's old partner turned dancer who comes in and out of the movie poorly. But Thanks to Robinson mostly it is interesting to see Rico's fairly standard rise and fall but due to his performance it is worth watching.
