Not good and not bad

The first of the 3 X-men movies is not bad nor is it really good. It just seems rather standard, but not really poor. It could have been worse and it could have been better. It not anything great as in characters or the overall story, but the action scenes are okay and the special effects are done well enough. Although the characters are not great they are okay, and although the story is is not great, well actually that is the worst part of it, it really does not work. Not a good film but not a truly bad film either.
