I did not mind watching Mister 880 at all, but I did find it really was a missed opportunity. It follows the story of the secret service trying to find a small time but notorious counterfeiter known as Mister 880. The counterfeiter turns out to be friendly man known as the skipper charmingly portrayed by Edmund Gwenn. If the film had followed the counterfeiter more it could have been rather interesting. Instead it spends too much time with the Secret Service investigator portrayed by Burt Lancaster and a tacked on feeling romance with Dorothy McGuire. It has some good moments, but overall it amounts to very little.
