The brilliant exploration and weaponisation of racial tension make the first two acts of this movie a worthy 21st century rendition of 1975's 'The Stepford Wives' for Black America. The final act is lazy, underwhelming, and far too reliant on the negligible comedic abilities of LilRel Howery. Still, an interesting film and hopefully a further indication of a return by the film industry to the genre of 70's paranoid cinema after 2016's 'A Cure for Wellness' (which, incidentally, possesses a number of similarities with this story).
