The film's disconnected structure starts as something of a deterrent, but once the central conflict surrounding the family matriarch is established and the viewer has acclimatized to what is an uncommonly heard dialect in mainstream cinema, the film graduates to hypnotic. Sadly, it doesn't keep you right through to the end. The acting is just very poor in parts, which makes the histrionic outbursts that ram into the film's closing moments like a runaway freight train comedic when they should be dignified.
