Just What the Doctor Ordered

Make no mistake, this is still an MCU movie, so you're going to get a colour palette with non-existent blacks, scenes that serve to set-up subsequent films instead of serving the current one, and actors standing in front of greenscreens and trying to look worried. HOWEVER, Raimi brings such jour de vivre to this movie that I don't care. There are more interesting camera angles and editing tricks in this film alone than the collective runtime of all previous 27 MCU films. Bolstered by a great performance by Elizabeth Olsen, the pace is fast enough and the action engaging enough that you can forgive the mostly uninteresting line-up of personalities assembled before you.
Traditionally the only true strength these films have had has been in their characters, so it's refreshing to see an MCU movie where the film-making actually stands out. Perhaps one day that film-making prowess will be matched with characters worthy of it, but for now this easily stands above everything else this studio has ever made. First MCU film since Iron Man I actually have an interest in rewatching.
