classic book turned into bad movie

This movie was based on the classic book Hat in the Cat. With Mike Meyers and Dakota Fanning as cast members I thought this movie had lots of promise. Being a teacher maybe I was expecting too much, but I have not heard one adult say that they like this movie. This was a boring movie that ruined the classic story.
