You can believe this or not, what attracted me to this film was watching Ryan Gosling play the ukele for Michelle WIlliams, and seeing her dance. I know that that shouldn't be a reason to view a film, but watching the other sequences in the trailer made me realize that this was going to be a very strong film. I know it was going to be a film that would question my ideals on relationships and how we view them now-a-days, and I was right. This film did everything right, I mean the acting, the film shots, the music. It felt as if you weren't watching a film at all. It felt as if you were a voyeur in the lives of two people that lost faith in eachother. Williams did a wonderful job, and Gosling was amazing. The film is very hard to watch because we usually don't like to sit through a manifestation of a relationship gone wrong, especially knowing that there's a child involved and all that, but at the same time we need to see it because it comes from all of our realities...we're like these characters when one of us in the relationship does whatever it takes to try and fix what's wrong, and the other just can't do it anymore...it's hard breaking, but a wonderful film that everyone should see...
