Half Star: I am surprised Michael Caine's career survived this movie.
4 Stars: Nancy Allen is phenomenal here and the cinematography is exquisite and stylish.
Hence my 2.5 Stars Rating.
I have mixed feelings about this movie: Michael Caine is so out of place here and completely phoned in his acting. Nancy Allen is perfectly seductive and charismatic, and her team-up and consequently friendship with the first victim's geeky inventor son (Keith Gordon) is endearing and believable.
What's up with that final scene in the loony bin? Am I watching a worse version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show? (a movie I love by the way).
This move is equal parts cool and cheesy. Having said that though, I recommend it ;)
