Sushi Girl

The Sushi, the Boring and the Wannabe.

-> Luke Skywalker torturing Atreyu under the leadership of the Candyman? No thanks!< -

In all seriousness though:

- Mark Hamill once again proves he can play a psychopath perfectly (and gay? Bi? I am confused).

- Gorgeous and talented Cortney Palm was underused here.

- Sonny Chiba was criminally underused! (I know, it's supposed to be a cameo, but I was expecting some martial arts and I was disappointed)

The movie dwells too much on the wannabe Yakuza gang leader and his illogical actions, the stupid useless torture, and the repeated boring insults between the gang members which all squeeze the reveal with the Sushi Girl's sweet revenge to the very last minutes of the movie, too quick to be savored by the audience. She should have been given more scenes to make the gang leader suffer, I mean, he killed the love of her life c'mon!

I think this movie could have benefitted if it was written as a dark comedy with witty dialog and a killer soundtrack, instead this is nothing more than a tedious watching task of a Tarantino wannabe.

In summary: less torture and more Sushi Girl!

PS1: I would have loved seeing a series starring the Sushi Chef and the Sushi Girl fighting crime with her diamond-given wealth.

PS2: Considering the cult-star status of the 3 actors whose characters I mentioned at the beginning of this review I wonder if the idea for this movie was concocted during a fan convention ;)

Cheers!
