And the Oscar goes to Jared Leto, or it better...

Occasional pacing issues aside, Dallas Buyers Club has a perfect mix of humor and heart bursting emotional. McConaughey is ferociously good in probably his best performance ever, but it is Jared Leto who truly elevates the film to a completely different level. He steals every scene he's in in one of the greatest supporting performances I've ever seen. He's up there with Heath Ledger as The Joker, just completely transcendent and astonishing. Of course, tears were shed by the bucket loads, but fortunately cliches were few and far between and everything feels natural and unforced. It all adds up to being one of the best films of the year and a showcase of truly outstanding performances from everyone involved. A great story very wellt old.
