The Rover may not offer much when it comes to being thought provoking or particularly deep. But with enough suspense, solid direction, and quick pacing keep it interesting and watchable. However, the best parts about it are two strong performances in Guy Pierce, probably one of the most underrated actors working today, and surprisingly, Robert Pattinson who continues to grow as an actor by giving the best performance of his career so far. He's damn good here, from his facial ticks, body language, and southern accent, he absolutely nails it. Ultimately, the film is nothing groundbreaking, but it's certainly worth a watch. (Rated R- violence and language)
