Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part II review

Finally after several films from the franchise it all ends. Harry, Hermione and Ron’s friendship still intact. Lord Voldemort has been defeated ala Darth vs. Luke style. Ever notice the color from their wands during the fight? Red from Harry and green from Voldemort). There were several twists involved including the mother of Harry and Severus Snape’s adoration and real character. Dumbledore returns for the last time in Harry’s head offering a few wisdom. Overall, it was a good continuation of Deathly Hallows Part 1, darker since more character’s died during battle. But for every battle, rebuilding is the most important thing. In the end, they became parents and have their children going to the school they went to. The only minute detail I find kind of lacking was the actual fight scene. It could have been more dramatic, longer, or both. In the previous films, the directors were able to inject humor; this conclusion was serious because of the countless dark sequences. Yes due to the numerous characters, you tend to get dizzy trying to recall their names, unless you’re an HP fanatic who knows each one of them. The effects were realistic and acting was solid. One of the memorable lines from the finale: Dumbledore – “You wonderful boy. You brave, brave man.” “Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living and above all, those who live without love.” At least they made Ron a bit smart this time and Neville have an important role. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part II is a joy to watch with some moral lessons about love, life and friendship and to end one of the most successful franchises of all time with some fitting scenes of parenthood as 3 friends mature from being kids to responsible adults.
