Watchmen review

I have a decent collection of Batman, Green Lantern, and Justice League graphic novels because of the art, writing and stories. Not reading the films graphic novel, I am not aware of what to expect. The Comedian was murdered so Rorschach investigates the crime. Silk Spectre and Nite Owl (much similar to Batman’s story with regards to the costume/gadgets/vehicle) help Rorschach in solving the mystery. The cerebral Ozymandias tries to help humanity by scheming up a project that would “keep the world united.” The judicious Dr. Manhattan also plays a role with Earth’s status once the real plans of Ozymandias have been unveiled.
I was surprised how the actor playing Rorschach was effective. He became an amazing fighter who had a distinctive voice. The rest of the artists were respectable. I love Doctor Manhattan's powers and abilities. Very distinctive and wonderful to look at on screen, yeah except the thing between his legs which I felt could have been improved. Almost everybody loved Rorschach; even I for one was affected by the vaporization. He did everything to uncover the mystery and help mankind. I felt this and the lousy love scene with Spectre and Nite Owl kind of distracted me from liking the film as a whole. A few tweaks and could have been one of the classic superhero film created. Nevertheless, it was entertaining from start to end with a few messages to boot. Humanity will always be fragile, heroes can be human and the decisions made can affect others. The music was suited to the era, theme and mood was dark and the characters were appealing. The film was like a huge canvas, a work of art similar to Sin City. In addition, the plot was brilliant, not sure if it stayed true to the original source material but it was still compelling.
