Crazy Heart review

Otis "Bad" Blake (Jeff Bridges) is an old country singer who fell for a journalist with a son named Jean Craddock (Maggie Gyllenhaal). A popular country singer who idolizes Bad named Tommy Sweet (Colin Farrell) finds ways for Blake to earn some money. Blake’s friend Wayne (Robert Duvall) informs him about a support group to help him with his alcohol problem. Bridges wonderful portrayal was rewarded by different the Academy Awards, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Broadcast Film Critics Association, Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild and the Independent Spirit Awards. I enjoyed the cinematography and locations, not a big country fan but it was worth watching. Its subjects touch from responsibility, to choices and redemption. Maggie Gyllenhaal acting was solid here as well which compliments the brilliance of Bridges. Crazy Heart is a drama that can be enjoyed by anyone who has kids, single parents, an alcoholic or just plain country music lover.
