Captain America: The First Avenger review

Setting is the 1940's and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is part of the "super-soldier" experiment headed by Starks and Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci). Nazi officer Johann Schmidt (Hugo Weaving) tries to rule as the Red Skull with his Hydra organization. Steve uses a circular shield made of vibranium, a rare indestructible metal while using a uniform similar to a US flag. The feeling of being in the 40's was never a question, the score, effects and surprisingly, the authenticity of Evans was good. Even the supporting casts of Colonel Chester Phillips (Tommy Lee Jones) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) were appealing.
The director shows promise in terms of the story's pace, action sequences and character development. Only thing that can be criticized is the lack of quality dialogues and the lead's sudden fighting ability, even-though physically the change is evident. Captain America: The First Avenger succeeds because of a skinny kid who started out as somebody who gets beaten down and bullied and becomes a compassionate hero. The movie's part of its positive aspects is that good things happen to those who are sincere and having a heart. One of the best marvel flicks, engaging from start to finish. Good build-up for The Avengers, leaving us wondering if this could have been a good franchise.
