A Bucket of Blood review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 12/11/11
A former busboy Walter Paisley (Dick Miller) accidentally kills a cat and covered it with clay. His displayed work becomes popular after showing this to Leonard (Antony Carbone) and Carla (Barboura Morris). After accidentally killing an undercover cop named Lou Raby (Bert Convy) he then turns it into one of his masterpieces. The “Dead Cat” and “Murdered Man” were his earlier works and soon would follow. Not enough romantic depth for Walter to love Carla, the ending also seemed rushed due to budget constraints though it was engaging and funny from the beginning. It could have been better if the dialogues length was shorter and the suspenseful scenes longer. The infusion of dark comedy in this era was unexpected and the suspense done in good taste. Its score provided thrills and humor that makes Bucket of Blood a good horror comedy.
