The Blues Brothers review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 12/19/11
Jake (Belushi) is released from prison and his brother Elwood (Aykroyd) picks him up. They discover that their childhood home Roman Catholic orphanage will close-down unless they earn $5,000 to pay the tax assessor. A mystery woman tries to kill them numerous times, offend a group of "Illinois Nazis" while the cops continuously chase them. A rare musical gem that can be enjoyed with performances from the greats Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and James Brown. The set location/pieces and car chases make this film succeed instead of the plot. Had a few humor but at times it drags due to long songs and sneaking around from the cops. The Blues Brothers is still considered a classic for its genre and creativity.
