Animal Kingdom review

Craig follows a car with 2 guys who made nasty remarks, handing Joshua “J” Cody a handgun to scare them off. Andrew “Pope” Cody’s best friend and partner in crime Barry “Baz” Brown is shot dead in the car. Pope and Darren shoot two police offciers to avenge Baz. “Josh” and Pope are brought in for questioning. Craig gets shot by a cop and Detective Senior Sergeant Nathan Leckie talks to J. The film kind of represents the quote from J – “Kids just are where ever they are, And they just do whatever they're doin', You know? This is where I was, And this is what I was doin', After my mum died, this is just the world I got thrown into.”
A few reservations this critic had was the person playing Pope tends to mumble when talking and the pace slows down a bit after Craig’s death. Screenplay was really impressive since each dialogue was so effective in conveying the characters. One of the best lines from Leckie – “Everything... everything sits in the order somewhere. Things survive because they're strong, and everything reaches an understanding. But not everything survives because it's strong. Some creatures are weak, but they survive because they're being protected by the strong for one reason or another,” and Janine “Whatever happens.” Animal Kingdom clearly symbolizes how these characters can be as cruel as animals with virtuoso acting, dramatic score and skillful directing. a film worthy of repeat viewings to enjoy is artistry.
