Saw IV review

A tape is found in John Kramer's (Tobin Bell) stomach during the autopsy. Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) is informed that the game has just begun based on the tape. Detective Kerry's (Dina Meyer) body was located and is investigated together with Peter Strahm (Scott Patterson) and Lindsey Perez (Athena Karkanis), two FBI agents. Everything seems to be rehashed such as the character of Eric Matthews, the video’s Jigsaw leaves and endless flashbacks. Strahm and Perez question Jigsaw’s ex wife Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell).
A nice line from the bloody flick: Hoffman - “We’re supposed to cherish our lives.” The direction was dizzying and it seems the whole film’s intent is to make you cringe instead of having a solid story. It only becomes interesting when we see the story of John and his wife, which has more than half of the picture. Furthermore, it lacked interesting protagonists, only showing the history of Jigzaw’s life and focusing on Lt. Rigg (Lyriq Bent). To have the franchise continue, another accomplice is revealed. Saw IV is a disappointing movie that never resolves the abduction of the children in the previous films and unending revelations.
