Solomon Kane review

With a 16th century setting, Solomon Kane encounters the Devil’s reaper. After a year in England, he is vanquished from the monastery he is staying at. William and his family assist the injured Solomon who was robbed. Samuel, William’s son, was slain, is avenged by Solomon. William’s daughter Meredith was abducted by Malachi's henchmen. Its screenplay was effective with a few of my favorite lines: Father – “Every man must discover his own destiny.” Solomon – “I’m a different man now.” The picture’s action is fast paced coupled with brilliant camera direction and a gallant score. James Purefoy makes us believe in the redemption of his character and the will to change. Tempo of the storytelling tends to dwindle towards the middle. Solomon Kane is a wonderfully created flick who enjoys action fantasy movies with a decent message injected.
