Zero Effect review

Lawyer Steve Arlo (Ben Stiller) explains his client’s personality. Daryl Zero (Bill Pullman), who names himself as Nick Carmine, makes a study to be detached and objective. Zero exclaims that he is “the greatest observer in the world.” He investigates a certain KB and searching for a blackmailer, namely Gloria Sullivan. Soundtrack was apt and upbeat, which matches the mood of the scenes. Screenplay was fantastic with human behaviors discussed in detail from Zero – “For every event there is a cause and effect.” “The ability to blend in.” “Sometimes what you’re looking for is right in front of you.” “A person can’t escape their nature.” and Arlo - “See the world don’t observe it.” Camera direction was good and plot unique with some twists involved. Zero Effect could have been better with the right artists (2 leads known for comedy doesn’t really match this serious thriller) and an improved ending would have sufficed.
