Margaret review

Slow paced character driven drama that has an intellectual script is worth based on its moral lessons and the amazing acting of Anna Paquin coupled with some big name supporting cast. Lisa Cohen (Anna Paquin) searches for a cowboy hat for her trip with her family. She notices a bus driver named Jason Berstone (Mark Ruffalo) who was wearing one, and accidentally kills a pedestrian. Joan Cohen (J. Smith-Cameron).is not in good terms with her daughter and meets Ramon Cameron (Jean Reno). Damon and Reno didn't have much speaking roles but Ruffalo delivers. Anna Paquin was exceptional and authentic. Camera angles were detailed and screenplay clever. Score was operatic and plot realistic. Only qualms this reviewer had was how unlikable the lead character was and a few extended scenes that doesn't focus on the story. One of the best lines: Lisa - "I feel so bad about what happened, and I'm trying so hard to do something about it." and Emily - "Because... this isn't an opera! And we are not all supporting characters to the drama of your amazing life! " Margaret had a myriad of themes such as culture clashes, racism, abortion, youth's recklessness, immaturity, guilt, truth, sensitivity and family issues.
