X-Men: The Last Stand review

Not all big budgeted films usually come out great. This reviewer recalls not enjoying the film since it was all action and lacks charm and depth compared to the previous 2 installments. There was a cure discovered to benefit the mutants. This premise alone spells disaster for the franchise. Magneto (Ian McKellen) forms an army consisting of Jean Grey / Phoenix (Famke Janssen), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Juggernaut and Multiple Man. Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and the X-Men, led by Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry) and Cyclops (James Marsden) try to stop Magneto's attacks. Screenplay was not as enticing as X2 and lacked proper character development due to the overloaded characters. If only the Phoenix storyline was more focused. Even the conclusion was disastrous aside from the mess of just killing of mutants. Plot, some acting, dialogue and effects were just not authentic and as impressive. X-Men is a descent film which somewhat sabotages the franchises reputation and the intentions of the director.
