The Women (2008) review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 10/28/12
Saw this with the wifey and was curious how the popular cast would fair. Screenplay and pace were dull and its topic on marriage and friendship were nothing fresh. Had a few laughable scenes (such as the scene stealing child birth sequence with Messing). Jada Pinkett Smitth's character was underutilized and the overall film was leaning towards women, as the title suggests. Meg Ryan always gets roles such as this movie and Anette Bening always gives her best no matter how coy the figure she portrays. Behind the scenes feature was interesting and soundtrack felt forced. The Women is a "so-so" comedy mixed with drama involving infidelity and sticking with your friends.
