Everything is Illuminated review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 11/16/12
Jonathan Foer (Elijah Wood) searches for the person connected to his grandfather. He is aided by Alex (Eugene Hutz) and his grandfather together with Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. They all discover and experience something that would touch their lives. A very moving yet humorous drama that is well directed. Spectacular effect was when Jonathan was on the way home and the transition of the view from the window and the transportation was well crafted and presented. Skillful camera work and applicable soundtrack with interesting characters make this picture watchable. Screenplay was effective as well with lines " It has shown me that everything is illuminated in the light of the past. It is always along the side of us, on the inside, looking out. Like you say, inside out." from Alex and "You exist for it. You have come because it exists." from Lista. Everything is Illuminated is a good drama about roots, the past, friendship and equality.
