Dirty Rotten Scoundrels review

The trailer on the DVD shows how a dark comedy can be effective for its era. Surprisingly funny and somewhat believable. Lawrence (Michael Caine) is a wealthy experienced British con artist. He encounters Freddy Benson (Steve Martin) and befriends him. The two make a bet and tries to victimize Janet (Glenne Headly). Feels like The Sting in a modern day setting with charming dialogues.

Almost perfect cast (Headly not impressive enough) makes this picture hilarious despite its all too impossible premise. Wardrobe, screenplay and locations were well picked. The twist in the end was somewhat obvious but entertaining nevertheless. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels had some laughable scenes (especially the wheelchair leg test) and is worth viewing repeatedly.
