With Honors review

This reviewer recalls enjoying this comedy drama from the 90's. Without Joe Pesci, this would not have been watchable. The charming Simon (Joe Pesci), serious Monty (Frasier) and stunningly amiable Courtney (Moira Kelly). It touches our hearts since its messages are powerful. It would vary from respecting people regardless of stature, being caring, humility, no regrets, lost time, showing ones affection, friendship and value of an education. The soundtrack was fitting and direction fluid to keep things even. Joe Pesci is an underrated actor who can do drama's and comedies. Evidently, he showed his range here and Frasier seems to have done well. It's minor faults were the unnecessary background characters, length and lack of romantic angle between Monty and Courtney. Nevertheless, With Honors is a silent triumph that can pull the heartstrings and bring in new lessons thanks to director Alek Keshishian and a smart bum named Simon.
