Trance review

The best line in this critics opinion to sum up the story was "The memory is not destroyed, it is locked in a cage, and with enough force, enough violence, the lock can be broken. It comes back, the memory, not completely, not entirely, but enough to drive you, to make you feel you have been cheated, enough to make you angry." A film about a stolen painting, hypnotism, memories and love. Soundtrack was impressive coming from Boyle but the plot confuses and tries ti impress. Dawson and McAvoy show convincing performances but the characters were dull. Obviously not one of the director's best efforts but worth viewing for the sake of art, crime and drama. Trance may not bring anything new but the overly stylish method of the way it was presented may be worth while.
