If it weren't for the girl playing Hazel (Shailene Woodley) this would have been dull. A cross between Natalie Portman and Winona Ryder in looks and talent saw authentic. The method of storytelling and certain prolonged scenes made the movie suffer. Screenplay was good with lines such as: "That's a thing about pain. It demands to be felt." "Pain demands to be felt." and "Dude, I'm not deaf, I'm just blind, so I can hear when you make fun of my disability." Poor direction, believable acting and impressive screenplay. A picture about disability, acceptance, parenthood and love.
