Even cheesier than Mortal Kombat - and that's saying something. The casting is the main issue, as I just can't take Jean-Claude Van Damme and poor Raul Julia - it's too bad this was his last theatrical film, because he deserved to go out better.

I remember when this movie 1st came out, I LOVED it.Now after watching it so many years later I can't understand what it was that I loved.The acting sucked, The storyline sucked, Etc, Etc, Etc. I read in a magazine, Another movie review site or online somewhere that Street Fighter is the worst video game based movie & now I see why.The best thing about Street Fighter was Raul Julia as Bison & the rest of the movie sucked

Now many would think me mad for giving this a positive review but let me explain. A good part of this film is very poor as in everything that has to do with characters that are not guile and M. Bison. These parts are poor with bad acting, and I will admit the story is just bad. The good parts that make the film watchable and entertaining involve Raul Julia and Jean Claude Van Damme's performances. They both go over the top just so they bring the right energy and hilarity to the dialogue. Watch any scene focused on Raul Julia or watch the scene where Guile gives his heartfelt speech to the troops hilarious.

It goes without saying that this movie is down right awful. Jean Claude Van Damme's career was long gone before this movie was ever released. Unfortunately someone seemed to have forgotten to tell him that. The worst thing about this movie is that this was the last movie that Raul Julia did before he died. Its a really bad movie, just spare yourself the time and pain that this movie has caused since its release.
