Does not live up to the hype

I have read the first book and thought it was pretty slow until you got to the end. Being a person who does not generally like romance type novels or movies but rather prefers action, the book had a good ending but was disappointing up to that point. The movie has gotten a lot of press regarding the actors, teens wanting to see it multiple times, and the fact that the sequel has already been ordered. I, however, found nothing special about the movie. I generally love the sci-fi genre even when it adds a little romance. I am a huge fan of the television series Roswell which has a combination of the two. Like the book, the movie has a decent ending. It does not have much else going for it. While the characters certainly had chemistry, the movie was quite frankly a bore to me and …

When I wasn't laughing or falling asleep it was OK

Having never read the book I could only assume I was going to be in for a so-so time. I have never left the theatre with so many mixed feelings. There were parts that were horrible and cheesy, it was just so bad. And then there were parts that were cool and made me want more of it. Overall, it was just okay. Nothing special, but not a terrible flop either.
What I did like was the story, or rather the idea behind the story. I have no problem with a love story between vampires and humans. I liked that they can be out in the sunlight and that there is an indian folklore about them. I for the most part liked the characters and some of the action scenes. But then there was... the rest.
The rest of the movie was just cheesy and downright laughable. No better than a WB show like Buffy …

Vamp-Lite

Yes, I read the book. But no, my inner teenage girl did not think it was the greatest thing since "Harry Potter" (which I never have read). I think I like the concept of it better than the execution. You know, vampires and werewolves in high school, the forbidden romance, etc.
If you admit it, the book does not have much action and the climax is a little simple. And that's where a movie can take liberties with its source material to make improvements. In "Twilight" (the movie) the finale is quite exciting. For me, it played better on the big screen.
Conversely, though, the movie came up short in the areas where the book excelled: the quiet, romantic aspects. There was onscreen chemistry, but you miss out on all the thoughts and feelings that the characters are having. Those …

everything can't always be perfect

ok so i am a HUGE fan of twilight and the series. so much so i went to the midnight premiere for the movie. i went in not expecting it to be perfect, but better than it was. after seeing the harry potter movies and how they change and mess with the story i wasn't expecting much. it would be a good movie if they didn't call it twilight, but they did. many of the scenes were done to perfection, but others like the one where bella and edward have the "fake" fight was a million times better in the book, it just had more detail. the biggest disappointment was the locations. the cullens house was all wrong. it is supposed to be this old victorian house in the middle of a huge field but instead in the movie it is incredibly modern. charlie's house is another that was done horribly. it was …

The Unfortunate Mediocrity of "Twilight"

I didn't go into this movie with any extreme expectations. I absolutely loved the book, but from the trailers I had seen I wasn't expecting anything great but I didn't expect it to bomb either. After seeing the movie I have to say it was only okay, unfortunately. Here are my reasons as to why this film only was, "okay."
1) While the chemistry between Bella and Edward was there, it didn't manifest itself like it could have. They left out plenty of things that were important to their romance, I believe. For instance, the bedroom scenes I so love and the scenes were Edward is simply asking her, "What is your favorite color?" Small things, but they help to show the relationship. One thing that is bugging me is that while Bella's Lullaby was there, you wouldn't know what it is unless you …
