"Terminator Salvation" by Yojimbo

A man on death row donates his body to science, little knowing he would wake up in the middle of a war between mankind and machine. The fourth film in the Terminator franchise, Salvation is set after the bombs have dropped and as such is the one a large proportion of the terminator fan base has been wanting pretty much since the beginning. Lifting some ideas from Robocop and even the Battlestar Galactica series, the newest addition to Skynet's arsenal is a bit of a stretch to the credulity but I think this (like Rise Of The Machines, Alien Resurrection etc) is the kind of film that depends entirely on how you approach it. You can pick holes in the plot if that is your wont, but I personally preferred to sit back and enjoy the ride. The cast aren't exactly inspired but to be honest they …

If Hollywood can't improve, or even match a classic movie with it's sequel I wish it would just strop trying. Again, fancy looking CGI doesn't take the place of a good story. The first Terminator was a bit on the bleh side and the second was excelent but the thing that made the second part so excelent was the transformation of Sarah Conner from drab girl next door to kick ass war chick. Using the same actress which really made the movie, when paired with it's earlier version pop out. They had an opportunity here to do something similar and cast the actor that played John Connor in T2 to now reprise his role in the adult, kick ass version. And the fact that they didn't really annoyed me from the start. Screwing over the fans of the series, the actor who rightfully deserves his role back …

Terminator: Rise of the Machines

Terminator: Rise of the Machines
(Run time: min. - Directed by: - Starring: Christian Bale)
Let me start by saying that this is the best Terminator movie in the series and that includes the original, hands down. And that’s a strong statement since the original Terminators been on my top 10 list since I was a kid! And even without Arnold, or maybe because, this film is the creative look at a future world we were all promised in the original over 20 years ago! (Even though there's a look-a-like cameo late in the film.)
Christian Bale is by far one of the best leading men in the business today. (Best Batman ever.) He make‘s the character of John Connor finally come to life in a real way. The pain, the worry of what‘s to come, and the confidence in his prophesized destiny. …

Well im gonna start off by saying I love the first 2 terminator's,I think they are some of the top if not the top of sci fi cinema The third one lacked alot of things but did finish with A strong ending This one on the other hand was A average movie at best with A BAD ending,When I go see A terminaotr movie I actually wanna se some old school robots like in the cutscenes from T2,instead we end up with over the top transformer looking things robot mottorcycles and some robtic snakes from the water but no real terminators t-800's and the new t-600 was virtually not seen at all when I think the fans had high hopes for that all an all the film is not A must see it sucks through most of it but hit's A stride towards the end that almost makes up for it and that part gets A 5 out of five

I must tell you, that this was probably the movie that went to see with less espectations in my life. I mean. Lets be honest. McG? Part IV? Bale a-g-a-i-n? Dude. Anyway. I liked the flick more than i'd have imagined. There are a few things that could have been done better, but the film actually delivers a very good continuity thing to the franchise. I was happy when I've read Danny Elfman at the score, saddly, it wasnt very elfmanish (good, though). The plot is fine, the dialogue is ok tending to poor, and there are some scenes that should have been shorter. But the thing is great entertaniment, and cocidering we come (sadly, at least, *I come*) from seeing McG directing Charlies Angels II, this is actually a fantastic film. So, hardcore Terminator fan? Yeah babe... go for it!

Terminator Salvation

In 1984 The Terminator gave birth to the action genre. In 1991 Terminator 2 became the best film of the action genre. With such high standards, Terminator 3 was bound to fail though it wasn't a complete disaster. Now with Terminator Salvation, its pretty much the same story. Its not a great film, nor a very good one, it just happens. Once its over, it leaves your brain. Mcg the director needed to have a decent story for this to be a great movie, but taking a step back from it, its easy to see the film doesn't progress the story in any way whatsoever. I wanted (and i'm sure everyone else wanted) to see how Kyle Reese came to be sent back to 1984, but instead we get a simple Men on a mission plotline that really has been seen many many times before. The only thing that makes it a …

I had heard the mixed reviews when I went to see Terminator and was pleasantly surprised. It is actually pretty good. Why did it get only three stars from someone who usually rates pretty high? Well, its missing a bit of the zip from the first two movies. I don't consider the third movie as part of the series . . . This is definitely worthy of the series, however, the problem was it doesn't have a real terminator in it so its lacking the humor of watching something that looks human not act human. The middle dragged a bit but overall pretty good. I actually like Christan Bale as John Conner though Anton Yelchin stole the show for me as Kyle Reese. I'm excited to see what they do with the next one as I feel they were trying to due a bit of a reboot here.

Oh McG, I was going to forgive Charlies Angels after I started watching the delightful Chuck, but now you've gone back a step with Terminator Salvation.
I will say, if you like action, then you'll be ecstatic with this film. From giant robot attacks, metal motorcycle chases, gunfights, mine fields and some good old-fashioned beat downs - not five minutes will go by without your senses being inundated with some kind of attack.
But action can only get you so far. You also have to deal with character, plot and continuity. Is it a bad sign when the best character also happens to be a robot? Well, not that he knows. Sam Worthington manages to give his human/robot hybrid a bit of a story, which is more than I can say for most of the others. Though you would think Bale would be a good …

Terminator Salvation is the third sequel, arguably a prequel, to the original Terminator and is intended to breath new life into the franchise. While this film manages to supply several great action sequences, it is for the most part quite lifeless. It bears little resemblance to its predecessors and doesn’t offer much hope for a proposed trilogy of post-judgment day films.
Of course a post-judgment day Terminator wouldn’t and shouldn’t be exactly the same and a new direction was definitely needed after T3 borrowed most of its plot elements from T2. Visually the film does a great job of creating a post-judgment day landscape although this becomes over bearing after awhile. That and the human characters aren’t nearly as interesting as those from the first three films. The …

Terminate Salvation

Christian Bale: “Look, all of the stuff with my behavior and what people f—ing think of McG, none of that should matter a damn to anyone. They just want a damn good movie.” Christian you were absolutely correct when you said all of that, but unfortunately you, McG, and the whole damn film just fail to deliver.
I’m not sure if any other film out this Summer was more highly anticipated than Terminator Salvation. Just looking at the trailers the film looked like it was going to kick some major ass. Now I have learned the hard way that trailers aren’t always good indicators for awesome movies. Salvation is set in the year 2018, so it is post Judgment Day. The film follows John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army …
