A bit more lackluster than the rivaling Pixar film "A Bug's Life," but it isn't without a smart message and a few good lines.

The film was about a worker ant, Z 4195, doesn't feel he fits in with conformity of his colony. A chance meeting with Princess Bala makes him realize it's not so good on the other end of the social spectrum. Switching places with a soldier, he becomes a hero and soon faces the challenge of saving the colony from the machinations of an evil general. Okay bug's life may have copyed this movie but bother movies are good if they are a rip-off or not.

Dreamworks earlier stab at animation is a mixed affair, but entertaining nonetheless.

Woody Allen's fingerprints are all over this film - from his typical neurotic monologues to the sly puns. Smarter than you would expect from an animated film and actually better suited for adults than kids.

I like movies that have human-like animals in them. In this case, the human-like animals are ants. Sorry, I mean "antz."

Being a Woody Allen fan, I really liked this. All the ant/dirt jokes were so funny. I really enjoyed it at the time.

There are some great voice talents here, but Woody Allen? Animation isn't supposed to be this neurotic. The themes are good, the animation is OK - but it can't compete with bigger, better computer-animated fare.
