Not a knockout but delivers

A decent documentary about Mike Tyson's rise in the boxing world to his troubled downfall and search for redemption. There are a lot of clips from early fights that help with the storytelling, though for some reason a lot are out of order. I had forgotten how effective a boxer Tyson used to be.
If the documentary has one flaw it's that the entire film is from the view of Tyson himself. There are no other interviews, commentators, or anything ,so you only get his view. Thus you get very little of Desiree Washington, the woman who accused him of rape, and nothing from Evander Holyfield, whom Tyson bit in a fight. Getting other points of view would have been helpful, but Tyson himself actually does a pretty good job of telling his story and opening up his emotions. A good film to watch …

Not that good nor well done

I almost liked this movie. It is not a documentary, it is more like an interview. It is an HBO special at best. So the only real reason why I almost liked this movie is because I really like Tyson. There is no better boxing game than Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the original Nintendo. And in my opiniong, there is no better boxer in the last 30 years.
I don't really have anything good to say about the movie. If you are expecting to see a cool documentary with a voice over and some good music with some cuts of his fights, skip it. Yeah, there are a few of his fights, but nothing that I was impressed with. Do you get to peak into why he may have become the way he is, only in his own words and not through any research.
