Clearly not one of the best films by either Richard Gere or Winona Ryder. The script/score/cinematography was not interesting, the characters were descent and nothing was memorable except for Charlotte (Winona Ryder) dying. There was nothing romantic about the story and Gere (as Will Keane) really doesn't match Ryder on-screen. A film about forgiveness, which we can safely do about this mediocre flick. Maybe forgive about watching this and forget.

I liked this movie for the fact that is starred Winona Ryder, otherwise I would not have watched Autumn In New York at all. I found the lines a tad predictable - in a couple fo scenes I knew what they were going to say before they said it, and that was the first time I watched it. It is about a guy (Richard Gere) who has a way with women, and goes them like he changes his underwear. Then he meets a girl (Winona Ryder) who is different to all the others, and he falls in love for the first time, despite the fact that she is 22 and he is 48. But this is one girl he cannot let go off, though he has no choice... Autumn In New York, and alright movie, but the vibe of it is a common one.

For some odd reason I was drawn to this movie. I liked the beginning the most and didn't like the way it played out. However, it is a movie that is unfairly ignored. With a fine appearance from movie actress and Broadway veteran, Elaine Stritch.
