"Despite achieving all his life's goals, Max still felt incomplete." Definitely one of the most intelligent animated black comedies this reviewer has seen. The film revolves around an Australian loner misfit named 8-year-old Mary Daisy Dinkle (Bethany Whitmore) and a mentally sick American Max Jerry Horowitz (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Starts of very funny then becomes darker in darker towards the fitting conclusion. So many memorable lines and funny moments. Some highlights were the detailed character development, lush soundtrack and very effective black humor. One of many provocative lines: "I do not understand why people break laws."
