The story is about a recent Northwestern grad finds a job working as an assitant to "Runway" in which she knows nothing about fashion but is desired to keep her job. This movie has good acting and okay writing.

The Devil Wears Prada is proof of how good a film can be with a half decent screenplay and solid actors that care about the project. The fantastic cast is able to find greatness in the material, making the film so much more than your average coming of age story. Meryl Streep is insanely good and Anne Hathaway does more than hold her own in the lead role. Solid performances by the supporting actors Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt as well.

Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway) get's the job of being the junior personal assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the icy editor-in-chief of Runway fashion magazine. Runway's art director Nigel (Stanley Tucci) helps Andy cope up with her new job. Had a few ludicrous scenes such as Harry Potter unpublished manuscript, rude comments and the like. Meryl Streep was a to see in this role and Hathaway innocent and resourceful with her character. The plot was light and soundtrack decent. Unfortunately, talented actresses cannot make a film good just by sheer talent alone. The Devil Wears Prada may have a few laughs despite some unbelievable sequences.

There's not a lot to the plot and, of course, the movie pales in comparison to the excellent book. However, the relationship between Anne Hathaway's nervous and desperate-to-please character and Meryl Streep's commanding and rude fashion guru is fun to watch in every scene.

First, sneer at someone for attending a hideous skirt convention. Second, call them undeserving because they eat carbs. Third, eat a cheese cube. This is an icy, snide amusement. "Get me that piece of paper I had in my hand yesterday morning." Just amazing line deliveries.

"The Devil Wears Prada" is a comedy film set in a fashion industry. The story revolves around Adrea (Anne Hathaway) and her new job as "new Emily" to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). At first, I was actually hesitant on watching this movie, until Meryl Streep came into the scene. I love watching her doing this movie. I also admire Stanley Tucci being versatile on his roles. And, I think this is the first time, that I see Anne Hathaway as a shining star. I had fun watching. Very nice! =)

A boring, cynical satire of the fashion industry that is neither pointed or funny enough; there is one very funny bit when Streep requests her assistant fetch her the unpublished manuscript to the next Harry Potter book (which supposedly isn't even written yet) and even that backfires when the assistant actually finds a copy. The film's message is too obvious and sappy to make much of an impact and Streep's character is so overbearing that not only do we hate her, we can't even enjoy hating her. Final Grade: D+

Streep was great in this show. However, I didn't like much about the story and Hathaway never became a character I much cared for.
