The best of the “Jurassic Park” sequels
Evan Wheatley - wrote on 10/21/2016
On June 12, 2015, Colin Trevorrow took us back to the iconic island of Isla Nublar, but this time not to Jurassic Park, but to a fully realized Jurassic World.
In this fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, Dr. Hammond’s original vision for Jurassic Park has come to fruition in the form of a fully functioning Disney World with dinosaurs. While the park controllers and scientists do manage to make Dr. Hammond’s vision a reality, they fail to learn from past mistakes, making an even larger one by creating a genetically modified killer known as the Indominus Rex. When the I. Rex escapes and wreaks havoc on the island, it’s up to velociraptor expert and trainer, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) to take her down.
Simply put, this film is a blast. The dinosaurs look great, …

Jurassic World

I remember as a kid, my parent taking me to see Jurassic Park.Everybody was raving so much about it, I just couldn't wait to see it.Watching it in the theater I was BORED out of mind.I remember squirming in my seat just waiting for it to be over. Now here comes...... Jurassic World. It wasn't on my Must See list but I had the chance to watch it for free so why not? I was hoping that maybe I'd like it more than I liked Jurassic Park but it felt like Deja Vu all over again.Starting out I was full of hope but as the movie went on I noticed I started losing attention.I had to rewind certain parts over & over again just to see what I missed. With about 30+ minutes left, I was ready to give up but I stuck it through because it almost over anyways.Just like with Jurassic Park I was BORED out of my …

Can't recapture the magic...

What would Jurassic Park have been like if it had actually been open to the public? The latest edition to the ground-breaking dino franchise seeks to answer this question in yet another misfire sequel to the 1993 classic. "Jurassic World" is entertaining enough, but fails to deliver the same sense of awe and dread the original is famous for. An over-reliance on CGI is partially to blame, but the primary culprit is director Colin Trevorrow's insistence on making this less of a dinosaur movie and more of a traditional monster movie. This is essentially "Godzilla" in "Jurassic Park" pajamas - a monster run amok that has to be brought down by other monsters. The whole thing has a very cartoonish feel as a result that betrays the spirit of the original. If you can separate the film from …

Remember when you experienced "Jurassic Park" back in 1993, when the craftsmanship led by Mr. Steven Spielberg himself transported you to an entirely different world, literally filled with places and creatures you have never vividly seen on screen before? Remember that look of jaw-dropping awe on Sam Neill and Laura Dern's faces when their eyes first met with the gigantic Brachiosaurus and the more to follow walking in the crystal blue lake, completed with John William's classic musical score as we, the audience, shared that sense of unspeakable awe? Remember the astounding CGI work showcased in those mesmerizing wide shots? What about the relentless charm of Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm, or the terrifying sense of uneasiness that flew through the air?
"Jurassic World" has next to …

A worthy successor of the first movie.

"Monster is a relative term.To a canary,a cat is a monster. We're just used to being the cat"
Universal Pictures pulled out his magic box once again and gathered a horde of extinct dinosaurs, which are resurrected with the use of some scientific tricks, on the big screen.Looking at the box office (apparently almost $ 1 billion),it seems like everyone was eagerly looking forward to seeing those prehistoric mastodons rumbling around again.Although some scientists were so quick off the mark to prove that some things don't correspond to reality (not all dinosaurs lived in the Jura era,the velociraptors weren't bigger than a turkey and were covered with feathers, the mosquito from which the DNA was extracted, didn't suck blood and the mosasaur wasn't so big as it's portrayed),it's still a lot …

Yes, dinosaurs are back

One of the few times that I was pleasantly surprised by a film. It exceeded my expectations. I realized that I like Chris Pratt as an actor, he does a great job doing whatever it is that he does. It's hard to believe that 22 years after the first film, the dinosaurs don't really look all that much better on-screen. That also shows the time and care that Spielberg put into the original.
I also have to say that this is the first "summer" movie in years that I've been excited about. I had to see this.
My only complaint, the children. They annoyed me. I kind of wish that they would have been eaten. That right there just screamed to me that Spielberg had more to do with this than he's letting on. It's the E.T. idea, that if you put children in horrible situations, but let them …

"Jurassic World" by Yojimbo

The theme park has been open to the public for many years now making the idea of cloned dinosaurs seem commonplace, leading to its owners commissioning the creation of a genetically engineered hybrid that is bigger and scarier than anything seen before. Wackiness ensues. The grimly inevitable Jurassic Park reboot is pretty much exactly what I was expecting; a bigger, badder version of the original film that revels in CGI based carnage at the expense of any intelligent narrative or characterisation. The heroes are Chris Pratt's impersonation of Patrick Swayze doing Crocodile Dundee and Bryce Dallas Howard's coldly negligent and barren careerist who only discovers her womanhood after she blows away an animal with a big gun after half of her clothes fall off. The plot is just an excuse to …

'Jurassic World' is the sequel most fans have been waiting for. This is a streamlined action/thriller that stays true to the sic-fi adventure roots present in the first 'Jurassic Park'. Once the quick setups are done, we jump into a fast moving (and lean) plot that utilizes escalation in it's progress of action set-pieces. The movie flows like a fine breeze, giving us all the close calls and dino-fighting we could want. The effects, while a bit too reliant on CG, are top notch. The cast is filled with good actors. The direction is solid, always giving us a clear view of the action no matter how frantic the situation. There are minor thrills to be had amongst the giant F/X heavy spectacle. The story is the only area that leaves more to be desired. The characters have just enough …

Jurassic World is worth a visit again and again!

This is the best since the original Jurassic Park. Plain and simple.
And no, I don't mean that passive-aggressively either. It's a genuinely good movie in its own right. Jurassic World picks up where the last two movies SHOULD have started at as far as entertainment value and sheer blockbuster escapist fun goes. The director Colin Trevorrow is gonna be working in Hollywood for a good long while. It's not like Godzilla (2014) and teases the audience;the first shot is of a baby dinosaur hatching for God's sake. It embraces the nostalgic wonder of the original that remains cherished by movie-goers while telling an exciting and hugely enjoyable story along the way. I actually began to cry when the original score started playing. No joking.
The plot is exactly what the tagline has …
