More Nicholas Sparks Nonsens, with Cop-Out Ending

'The Choice' is yet another (yearly) addition to the collection of films based on novels from writer Nicholas Sparks. I feel that everyone who is familiar with the brand will know exactly what to expect from this latest offering. I will contest that this round wasn't as painful or annoying to sit through as most of the others I've seen. That said, it is still undeniably dumb and cheesy. There exists no connection to the romance at hand due to the poor writing and lack of believability between the couple, despite the better efforts of the two leads. Many trite, predictable conveniences bring them together, while many questionable responses keep them apart for seemingly no reason. You can add infidelity and ever-changing desires to the couples motives as well. The dumb dialogue is …
