A Superior Addition to LGBT Cinema

This is one of my favourite gay movies because it truly captured the alienation I felt in high school due to the close-minded bigots I wish I never met. I could easily relate to the character because he likes to write (although I did not take that path) and he has that I-don't-care-what-you-think attitude that's well beyond the confines of high school. This film does not have any graphic sex scenes, which I admire because 95% of gay and lesbian movies have to have at least one sex scene for them to remain interesting. Instead, this is all about emotions: the ups and downs of being in love/lust and how wanting to break free from a shell can blur the line between those two completely different issues.
