It's a bold move to have the camera fixed in one spot for the entire movie. You think it would get annoying but I settled into it. The multiple stories are trying to make the movie seem like a multi-layered narrative like Traffic or Short Cuts. But those movies were meant as epic movies with a longer runtime. Meanwhile, this movie is only about 90 minutes. It feels a bit underwhelming because of it. But there are some good performances. No surprise that Tom Hanks and Robin Wright are good. Paul Bettany has a one-note role as the alcoholic father but he is compelling. Director Robert Zemeckis took a gamble on a gimmick enhancing the plot. But you still need to have a real plot, Bob.
