Misery is a 1990 horror film starring James Caan and Kathy Bates based on the Stephen King book of the same name. He does a great job and she does even better. I like Stephen King, but I haven't read this book. I did watch it on tv, so it might be a completely movie unedited. Every scene with Kathy Bates is creepy and chilling. Overall, a good film with a good script and even better actors.

This is my favorite Stephen King novel. My favorite film made off a Stephen King novel. Kathy Bates def deserves the Oscar she won for this film. The scene with the sledge hammer. Holy sh!t! Ouch! I like that commercial they did off of that scene not that long ago. It's pretty funny.

Kathy Bates was brilliant in her portrayal of one of the best villains to ever grace the big screen. And she won the Oscar for it, so everyone should be happy. However, Kathy Bates wasn't the only amazing thing about this movie. Its truly brilliant! Utterly brilliant! Stephen King's craftily woven story takes on the psyche of the audience and scares us all into submission, causing to ask certain questions to ourselves..."What if...?" And then the credits roll and our minds have been thoroughly scrubbed clean of any happiness. Way to go Reiner!

The scene where she breaks his feet is horrifically gross, but excellent, and perfect for this movie. And, what a great movie it is!

One of the better Stephen King adaptations. Misery is truly scary and doesn't seem at all far-fetched when you think about what kind of people are out there.
