The story is excruciatingly Hollywood, but "The Pursuit of Happyness" is saved by Will Smith's committed performance and the film's earnest portrayals of homelessness and financial struggles.

The problem today with modern movies is their inability to be relatable. The further we progress into the future the more movies are getting deeper and deeper into the idea that fantasy is what the people want to see, but what can we take away from these kinds a movies? A viewer was not to leave a movie feeling that anything is possible. A movie is not only supposed to open your imagination but also your hopes that anything can be overcome by anyone. That is why the movie The Pursuit of Happiness is timeless.

A great movie that is inspirational and heartfelt. As I salesman I truly appreciated Chris Gardner's fight towards greatness. He loks towards the future for he and his son and works for nothing to better himself and his reputation at Dean Witter. After becoming one of the most successful interns, he receives a job and finds himself able to more than support he and his son. I actually stole his sales technique of never hanging up the phone. The more calls you make, the more no's you hear, get you closer to your next big deal. A movie any sales manager should show to his team to motivate and inspire.

Will Smith and his bond with his real-life son create the emotional core of this film. Shrugging off his past comedic roles, Smith plays Chris Gardner with a certain devoted desperation that elevates the material. His performance is the best of the film, even though the plot sometimes veers into sappy cliches.

Biographical drama film based on Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the film features Will Smith as Gardner, an on-and-off-homeless salesman-turned stockbroker. Smith's real-life son Jaden Smith co-stars, making his film debut as Gardner's son Christopher Jr. The screenplay by Steven Conrad is based on the best-selling memoir written by Gardner with Quincy Troupe. The film was released on December 15, 2006, by Columbia Pictures. For his performance, Will Smith was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor.Very intense and touchable movie.

"The Pursuit of Happyness" is a true story of Chris Gardner (Will Smith) who sells a scanner which happened to be not as demanding and struggles to sell one. His life starts to go through tougher roads when his wife decided to leave him. He then, has to work harder for himself and his son's living. I just watch the film, didn't expect much but definitely gave something. The story is simply inspiring and well presented. However, some parts bore you. A GOOD ONE THOUGH.

It's a Will Smith movie, so of course it,s entertaining and the ending was very touching. Let's not take his talent for granted. But it was quite stressful to watch at times, and the story seemed more on a TV-movie level.
