Lou Jean Poplin assists her husband Clovis Michael Poplin to get their child and help him escape prison. The premise reminded me of the films Bonnie & Clyde and Natural Born Killers, but a tamer version without the gore or violence. Car chases were interesting unfortunately the main leads were uninteresting as the aforementioned movies. Soundtrack was hypnotic and sometimes too repetitive. Goldie Hawn was fabulous in her earnest portrayal. Not one of the director’s best, but his first full length feature shows promise of what’s to come. It is a descent action with enough punch to keep you interested despite some dragging portions. Sugarland Express has the heart, pulsating action and proper build-up for it’s characters.

Definitely not Goldie Hawn's best performance ever. But hey, It's a Spielberg film. Great camera work! And yeah, it might not be the best story ever...but it's still a fun ride.

Goldie Hawn with a country accent is the most annoying thing in the world. Oh, and she is trying to help her boyfriend out of prison. Could it get any worse? NO!
