Tess (1979) PG A young woman (Nastassja Kinski) in Victorian England becomes the pawn of two men in her life. Kinski gives the performance of a lifetime as Tess, a woman who is preyed upon by men, and there is nothing that she can do about it. It’s a sad, heartbreaking film but one worth watching due to Kinski’s incredible performance. Saw this recently and really liked it. Describes the ups and downs of one girl's life. Don't let the length put you off. This one by Roman Polanski is good. I would even dare call it a masterpiece. Nastassja Kinski at her best. The ending is completely mad and unbelievably good.
