It had one good idea and a couple of the ghosts were creepy, but the whole movie is just lame.

now I know this is a remake of William Castle's cult classic.but come on,this film was not a bad remake,it was actually pretty decent.this film had some good scares.the film had some pretty cool special effects.and the cast was actually pretty damn good.Matthew Lillard and Shannon Elizabeth are purely great in this film.I cannot lie and say it was a bad movie, because I actually found myself amused at times, and even creeped out.this film is not that bad, don't listen to what your friends tell ya'.this film was actually decent and yes,it's worth an hour and twenty six minutes of your life.

I like Tony Shalhoub and Shannon Elizabeth, so, I knew that at least the film would have something fun, and sexy. Is not a great thing, but it got my attention and entertained me enough.

Thir13 Ghosts: Looks cool but is 'meh' after a bit

This slick supernatural horror flick boasts an outstanding production design with one of the more uniquely designed haunted houses in cinema. And there are actually quite a few creative kills that are undeniably gruesome but so over-the-top you can't help but snicker.
It's too bad the script is not that good. The movie uses slow-motion way too much. Tony Shalhoub is weird casting for a movie like this. But Matthew Lillard is kind of entertaining as the sarcastic comic-relief.
The makeup effects and designs for some of the ghosts is cool, like the brutish thug Juggernaut or the asylum inmate The Jackal. One might almost think they intended one of these ghosts to get their own spin-off.
Apparently this got really bad reviews when first released. It's not that bad but there is a sense …

Old Favorite

Thir13en Ghosts was an old favorite of mine. I loved the idea for the story long before I ever really knew what a good movie was, and I thought the movie was the best I've ever seen. Now I'm a little more experienced, but I still have a special place in my heart for this picture.
The story for Thir13en Ghosts is rather original, even though the movie is a remake. I love how the ghosts in the film actually have stories instead of just being the bland "ghost made of a sheet" kind. Each ghost has their own personality and past, which makes the idea for Thir13en Ghosts even better than I thought it was going to be. Although I've never seen the original 13 Ghosts, I always found the fondness of seeing things differently through glasses, because I've always had glasses, and I see things …
