Even though I don't like westerns, I still try to give them a chance. This movie seemed to have all of Sergio Leone's trademarks. It was slightly amusing, but most of all I just don't get it or care. It is too bad.

A classic Sergio Leone western with detailed performance from the offbeat casting of Rod Steiger as a Mexican bandit and the always affable James Coburn as an explosives expert who join up together to rob a bank. Terrific sequences, stylish Ennio Morricone music. Also known as A Fistful of Dynamite. Final Grade: A-

Awesome movie. Coburn and Steiger are both top notch in this masterpiece about the revolution. Beautiful, beautiful movie with Morricone's fabulous score (as usual). It's flawed, but it has heart. Make sure you watch the uncut version.

Coburn lacks the steely intensity of The Man With No Name but is undeniably cool, although his mangling of the Irish accent is almost painful to listen to. Better is Steiger who is a characterful …
